What is Primis doing for Juneteenth?

The first Juneteenth took place in 1865 when news of freedom reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is a day of hope, celebration, and of supporting our diverse communities. At Primis, we invite you to take the day to celebrate and reflect on how we can best support our customers, co-workers, and shareholders in our commitment to foster diversity at all levels.

At Primis we will celebrate and honor Juneteenth by closing all branch locations on Saturday, June 19, 2021. It is important to us that we take actionable steps as part of our overarching commitment to furthering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at all levels of our organization and beyond.

It has been 156 years since the first Juneteenth, and we still have a long road to go in our journey for diversity, equity, and inclusion – but we believe that change is born out of the smaller actions we all take along the way. Primis invites you to take this Juneteenth to celebrate and reflect on how we can best support one another in our commitment to foster diversity at all levels.
