WFH? Stay Cyber-secure

Keep Calm and Stay Cybersecure When Working from Home

Working from home has many benefits: flexibility, work-life balance, much shorter commute, cost savings; and, employers are seeing increased productivity and job satisfaction, along with cost reductions. New concerns have also surfaced, including the vulnerability for cyberthreats. With around 22 million employed adults (around 14%) working from home, this could be a significant pain point for many. Here are some ways to avert potential cyber-issues:

  • Use strong passwords and don’t share them with others
  • Update your software regularly
  • Secure WiFi and use a VPN for an encrypted internet connection
  • Look out for unusual emails and don’t open anything suspicious
  • Be sure to secure video conferencing
  • Use your company’s central storage solution
  • If you’re concerned you’ve been involved in a data breach, change passwords immediately
