Primis Bank Announces Director Of Corporate Social Responsibility
Diane Beirne joins Primis to help focus on social and economic community support
RICHMOND, Va. — Primis is strengthening its community support efforts with the addition of Diane Beirne as director of corporate social responsibility.
Beirne brings over a decade’s worth of nonprofit experience with her to Primis, most recently serving for the past 12 years as the executive director at The Woman’s Club, a 501(c)(3) aiming to provide education and engagement to women across the Greater Richmond area.
“Diane is serving in a very important role at Primis,” Dennis Zember, president and chief executive officer said. “A huge part of our corporate growth and success is ensuring our resources are appropriately put to work to enrich the lives of our teammates and those in our communities. The communities that we serve, and the people who live there, genuinely matter to us. I believe we [Primis] have a responsibility to care for each other and our neighbors, and Diane is the perfect fit to make sure we do.”
Beirne has a proven track record of success wherever she goes. During her time at The Woman’s Club, and as director of development at the Bolling Haxall House Foundation, Beirne’s strategic planning and operational development built strong campaigns and initiatives that created lasting impacts on the approximately 1,400 women the organization served. At Primis, Beirne will be responsible for developing the organization’s corporate social responsibility strategy, including oversight of the Primis Works program for single mothers managed by Primis Works Manager Markeia Johnson. Looking to expand the bank’s social and economic outreach ten-fold, in the immediate, Beirne will initially focus on social and philanthropic support, and eventually, environmental impact.
“Often you’ll find that companies that put internal programs in place or give back because they’re just crossing an item off their list,” Beirne said. “Primis is different. A huge part of why I decided to leave the nonprofit world and join the corporate one is because I can easily tell that Primis’ leadership wants to grow and support their employees alongside helping make the communities around them a better place. To say I’m excited to help them make a real difference is an understatement.”
